Progress: Part 2

My desk is as clear as it ever gets, and is significantly cleaner than it usually gets during the rare times that I actually tackle the project. There's one very short pile of papers that I still need to tend to or work with, a taller stack of product boxes and paperwork for rebates, and 3 fanzines to read (and LoC, in my dreams, at least).

After I cleared the desktop, I vacuumed the carpet, cleaned the chairmat, and also cleaned the small shelf under the desk followed by a swipe and Dustbuster pass at the floor underneath. There's a welcome absence of grit underfoot.

There's still the rest of the office, including two other flat surfaces, a pile of boxes, and a spare lamp. But the desk...the desk is functional once more. Huzzah!

I'm undertaking a similar project today. I'm calling it the Big Living Room Sort project. When I rearranged my bedroom a couple of weeks ago I dumped everything in the living room and now it's way past time to go through it all and figure out where it goes.

I have five categories: Stuff I want in the bedroom. Stuff I want someplace else. Stuff that isn't mine. Stuff to sell/give-away. Trash.

So far I only have two boxes for the first two, one big trash bag and a few things to sell/give-away. The stuff that isn't mine is also pretty small at this point but there's more to sort through It's a drizzly, rainy day and so a good day for staying in a poking through dusty belongings.

Oh you don't have to write a loc as such. One or two lines of reaction would be good enough.

I suspect that you wouldn't enjoy renting in Canberra much as it is standard policy here for real estate agents to inspect rental properties 3/4 times a year to ensure their client's investment is being looked after. The letter announcing an inspection in two weeks is traditionally treated as a sign that all those little jobs one has been avoiding must be done now/next week/the night before the inspection. Living as i do by myself and being fairly tidy this isn't an issue but for less organised types it can certainly be traumatic.
