Good Intentions, Day 2

Vacuumed: bedroom, guest bedrooms, living room, dining area, stairs!, and office. I usually vacuum a room or two at a time, or a single level at most. And the stairs pretty much always get overlooked. Pulling the vacuum cleaner apart and using the attachments isn't that hard, but vacuuming stairs is a pain.

Side benefits: also helping fulfill good intentions to move more and post to LJ more often.

If I get past 3 weeks, I'll put Good Intentions posts behind a cut-tag.

Hardest part: opening credit card bill and not immediately sitting down at the computer to update the outstanding debt spreadsheet.

I use to hate vacuuming stairs also. But, then I bought a little handheld vac just for the steps. I keep it at the bottom of the steps and can grab it quickly.

Yes, a handheld, powerful Dirt Devil made all the difference to the stairs getting vacuumed at Toad Hall in Minneapolis, though they were not carpeted and could also be swept. Here, the job takes more than my Dust Buster can handle. I have a carpet runner with those cool brass rods on each step holding it in place. The basement stairs are fully carpeted; I still have to get to those.

I'm down to three vacuums -- a Bissell upright with detachable canister, a shop vac, and a Dust Buster. When Jeff was living at Toad Hall, we had a vacuum on each floor of the house (attic, 2nd floor, 1st floor, shop vac in the basement) plus two handhelds and a full-sized carpet cleaner. One house, two people, seven vacuums. Good grief.

For all of that, I've never been good at vacuuming regularly. Vacuuming, or cleaning carpets, either. I've have a handheld spot carpet cleaner for something like 10 years now and have used it...twice, I think.

Since the last comment, I started doing laundry and made up and drank my rehydration fluid.

I don't need a vacuum cleaner because it's not good for the laminate floor, but I could use something to get cat hair out of the recliner. I'm not sure there is such a thing, though.
