The CNN International home page gave a real "life in the future" moment with the summary headline "Dead Sea Scrolls available online."

Not quite yet, as it turns out. Today, the Israel Antiquities Authority and Google announced their plan to digitize the Dead Sea Scrolls and to make the entire collection available to the public online.

My mind boggles, in all good ways.

My mother says that UMich has been working on scanning/digitising their entire collection of papyrus and scrolls for a few years. Apparently, they aren't the only ones.
