Tigers for Christmas!

That'll show me to post a snapshot of felines on Christmas Eve....

One of the Fitzgerald Family Christmas traditions is to open one gift on Christmas Eve. As kids, we were often guided to a package from Grandma and Grandpa Fitzgerald, one most often containing a new flannel nightgown, or something else of immediate use.

Tonight, I chose to open a Kinder Egg. Thanks to my November trip to Toronto to run the consuite at SFContario, it's a bonus bumper Kinder Egg Christmas, complete with a box of 3 standard 20g Kinder Eggs, a big 100g Egg (promising a "bigger surprise"), and a gigantic 150g Maxi Egg.

I could be in trouble. There were three (count 'em, 3) tigers inside the capsule of the 20g egg I opened tonight. They don't call them Kinder Surprise for nothing, eh?

The capsule thoughtfully included a grassy environment for the lenticular tigers to live on, but I think they'll have much more fun coming along with me to science fiction conventions. I hope this advance notice will keep you from being startled when one of them jumps off my Arisia or Boskone badge in your direction. They're already showing signs of being enthusiastic with their hellos.

Worry not, retooned. I remember every thing you taught us about just how far tiger paws can stretch during that utterly splendid behind-the-scenes tour at Como Zoo during Not-A-D-Con 25 years back. (Or was it 26? I think it was 26. How the heck did that happen?!?!)

As my tigers have already been to Canada, I don't anticipate needing to send them there. But if I do, I trust guppiecat's extensive research and instructions for how to ship a tiger to Canada will come in handy. I'll just do everything in triplicate.

Here's to sweet dreams, and a day of fun surprises ahead!

If only we USians who don't travel to Canada could purchase such wonders! Even my grown-up "kids" would love to find one in their stocking.

Merry Christmas!

Tigers must be in the atmosphere, or something. The other night, abostick59 dreamed that, to solve the problem of our cat being lonely and bored, he introduced her to a house with tigers. He said it worked out well.

(We'll get another cat shortly after our giant party is over, which will be one week from tonight.)

Lenticular tigers?

The tigers are lens shaped?

You were lucky. A lot of people have their Kinder Eggs confiscated by US customs.
