When I had new locks installed in Battle Creek back in August, 2011, I proudly used the table saw in the basement to cut a needed piece of wood. Hadn't used it in decades; it still ran like a charm.

Thanks to having the model number in hand, this afternoon it took mere minutes to learn the saw was first built in 1952...and to download a pdf of the owner's manual.

Fewer than 5 minutes after that, I also had interesting information about the jointer-planer, also from "the 1950s.

You can bet I made a modest donation to Vintage Machinery!

I took some when Sue reassembled it in Mattawan, MI. A movie of it running, too, so I have the sound.

I'll try to remember to post pix once I'm home and have a real internet connection again. That and the delusion of time....

Thanks. jointer-planers are things of joy and beauty. Table saws are nice too.

About the only thing I really liked about my grades 3-7 at Blake was wood shop. Unlike wood shop at public schools, they assumed we were actually capable of doing interesting things.
